The newest addition to Cove Harbor, located in Rockport, Texas, is finally here. The Gnarly Marlin Waterfront Eatery & Bar is a family-friendly establishment offering an all-new dining experience to the area.
The restaurant made the move from Lake Travis to the Texas coast this past summer and is one of Rockport’s premier waterfront dining destinations with its easy-going ambiance and exceptional offerings.
“We are very excited to welcome The Gnarly Marlin to the Cove Harbor Community,” said Haythem Dawlett of the waterfront property development management company, Legend Communities. “The Gnarly Marlin will serve as an amenity to the Cove Harbor fishing community as the local fisherman dining paradise. This unparalleled restaurant will attract locals and second-home travelers alike and will elevate the Rockport, Texas culinary scene through its delectable flavors and jaw-dropping views.”
After Hurricane Harvey destroyed the Cove Harbor Marina and Drystack in 2017, Legend Communities reconstructed and greatly improved the facilities while also expanding the property and adding amenities you won’t find in other bayfront developments in Rockport. Located in between the Cove Harbor Marina and Drystack and Cove Harbor Waterfront RV Resort, The Gnarly Marlin also offers a 10% discount for all marina members and RV resort guests.
As for the menu at The Gnarly Marlin, tried-and-true items such as Fish ‘n Chips, Ahi tuna and lobster rolls pack in the flavor. The NY strip, clam chowder, sea scallops and shrimp caught by local fishermen round out the offerings. Plus, the restaurant’s cook-your-catch services provide an exciting amenity ideal for the local fishing scene.
The new spot also features an array of specialty cocktails with its full bar such as a slate of imaginative margaritas, a wide range of draft beers and fan favorites including the Rum Runner, Pain Killer and the Cross-Eyed Mary.
“We are overjoyed to announce that we are the latest Cove Harbor tenant,” said Todd Hynes, owner and operator for The Gnarly Marlin. “Our move from Lake Travis to the Texas coast and Rockport is a transition that we are ever so grateful for. The Gnarly Marlin will provide Cove Harbor patrons and Rockport locals and visitors alike with a one-of-a-kind dining experience, one that they will continue to come back to when visiting the area.”
The waterfront restaurant boasts a spacious indoor dining area with a welcoming bar and lounge, while three outdoor patios offer exceptional waterfront views. The Gnarly Marlin is now open with operating hours seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
