Cove Harbor Marina and Drystack LP today announced the opening of two new, premier Rockport facilities—the Cove Harbor Coach Resort and the Cove Harbor Event Center—featuring a host of Bayfront amenities unmatched in the Rockport/Fulton area.
“Cove Harbor is the ideal destination for a refreshing Gulf Coast getaway during Spring Break, Easter or anytime throughout the upcoming spring and summer months,” said Haythem Dawlett, owner of Cove Harbor Marina and Drystack LP, which developed both facilities. “There is nothing comparable in the area, and we are making it especially easy for families to enjoy the resort and event center with special spring pricing.”
Located at 2620 Highway 35 South in Rockport, next door to Cove Harbor Marina, Cove Harbor Coach Resort is a 42-slip motorcoach boutique waterfront resort and clubhouse. The waterfront setting beckons with graceful palm trees, custom landscaping, spectacular water views and is located within close proximity to numerous bird sanctuaries. The resort’s clubhouse looks out on a scenic, relaxing swimming pool and is equipped with a full kitchen and lounge area; fitness center; small retail store; keypad entry; laundry facilities; vending machines; and free wireless internet service. The motorcoach resort provides back-in and pull-through sites, long sites with their own yards and picnic table, and full hookups with 30- and 50-amp compatibility. Pets are welcome, and pet waste receptacles are provided within the park.
After Hurricane Harvey destroyed Cove Harbor Marina and Drystack in 2017 Dawlett not only completely reconstructed and greatly improved those facilities, but also expanded them to add amenities like no other Bayfront development in Rockport. Completed in November 2020, the official grand opening for the new facilities was delayed due to Covid-19. However, the resort is now open and taking reservations. With full occupancy of 300 and seating for 220, the resort has not yet scheduled or held an event for more than 100 people, so it has not been necessary to restrict the number of people in the venue.
Cove Harbor Coach Resort spring rates are $70-$80 daily, $490-$560 weekly, and $1,470-$1,680 monthly. Summer rates will be set based on occupancy.
Situated on five acres at 2796 State Highway 35 South in Rockport, with picturesque Bayfront views, the 5,000-square-foot Cove Harbor Event Center is a premier venue that can accommodate both casual and formal affairs. It features an open concept that seats 140 people indoors and an additional 160 people outside, with seating for 220 people, total occupancy of 300. The facility boasts three outdoor patios, two indoor bar areas with a pass-through bar area to the main outdoor sail shaded covered patio, an audio/visual system for use during events, podium to accommodate event speakers or a band/DJ, and a catering kitchen. Cove Harbor Event Center will provide a list of recommended caterers and other vendors to assist clients reserving the area for events. For an additional fee, it will offer the use of nearby boat wet slips for grand entrances by boat—ideal for brides, birthday parties and VIP guests. Groups can host phenomenal fishing tournaments, company parties, weddings or anniversary celebrations and more.
Cove Harbor Marina and Drystack, the parent facility for both the Coach Resort and Event Center, has come back strong from the direct hit it took from Hurricane Harvey in August 2017. It is one of the single-largest bases for commercial fishing operations and the largest proposed full-service marina and dry stack storage facilities in the Rockport area. Cove Harbor is a Coast Guard-compliant marina with a dry stack boat storage facility with capacity for more than 470 boats, and more than 180 wet slips, including more than 140 wet slip spaces for lease and 30 wet slips for daily use.
Cove Harbor clients have access to one-hour “make-ready” service, private, climate-controlled storage lockers for fishing gear, with 24-hour access; trailer storage; non-ethanol gasoline and diesel fuels; an after-hours drop box for late-night voyages; clean restrooms and showers; a deli and lounge area; and a Marketplace stocked with snacks, beverages, clothing apparel, and fishing and boat accessories. Cove Harbor is the only marina in the Rockport area to offer Bayfront amenities.
